Episode #7 Nice bit of cruising through Rooskey and Tarmonbarry

In this episode we cruise through Rooskey and Tarmonbarry.

We are on our way to the town of Lanesborough on the northern tip of Lough Res. But first we need to negotiate the lifting span at Rooskey. We have a brief look around the moorings there and also at the Waterways Ireland depot. Then we head into the lock to defend all of about two feet before we can continue on.

In this episode we use google maps to help to give you a better perspective of what the river is like and also to give you an idea of how long it would take if you were to visit every mooring on the river.

After Rooskey we head towards Tarmonbarry. Now Tarmonbarry also has a bridge that we need to have lifted as well as a lock. We share the lock with another boat before continuing on past Tarminbarry.

I show you what we will be doing next week when we take on the might of the very large lake, Lough Res. At around 22 miles long its not to be taken lightly. Thanks for watching and please share this video through social media. Ta
