Cruise to River Shannon – Low Bridges & High Water

On this cruise to the River Shannon, we have to pass under some pretty low bridges. The Shannon Erne Waterway is in flood following the recent heavy rainfall. Our Cruise to the Shannon is not easy with low bridges and the River Shannon itself is also very high. The higher water level brings with it some unexpected problems, it’s not just the problems squeezing under the bridges, the likelihood of running aground is also much higher.

That said we had a great trip to the River Shannon and it was made all the easier by Seamus the Waterways Ireland Warden. He met us at every lock and saved us a lot of time. I’m still recovering from an operation so I was glad to be able to avoid pulling on ropes or jumping off the boat.

  1. Hello, Mario. Hello, Harry, Happy Eastern.

nice to see you on the water, and Harry drinking beer again. What kind of beer is that?
Great video, as always great. Keep it up.

  2. Hi Tina & Willi, Yes it’s great to be fit again and to get out on the boat. I like to pick up a craft stout every once in a while. I’m not sure where I found that one, to be honest! Might have been in Aldi. Hope all is good with you guys.
