Crossing the English Channel to France

Crossing the English Channel to France

In this episode we cross the English Channel from Weymouth to the Cherbourg peninsula. Then follow the Normandy coast to the Seine Estuary. The journey across the English Channel was another wonderful experience

and in excellent weather too. It took just over nine hours from port to port and we moored up in the small port of Ominvielle la Rouge. There was an industrial dispute in Cherbourg so we couldn’t enter the port there. From Ormonville we headed along the Normandy coast and past the Mulberry Harbour. Before long we arrived at Ouistreham on the north coast. We stayed there a while before continuing along the coast to the Seine Estuary and the town of Honfleur across the estuary from Le Havre.
